The Story behind Threadneedle Studio

Welcome to Threadneedle Studio, where we mix the laid-back vibe of Bermuda with the vibrant energy of New York City—because why not? I'm Julia Stephens (founder), and after a souvenir hunt six years ago that left me questioning humanity( ok a little harsh ) —seriously, who needs another "generic trinket"? I decided to create some gifts that scream 'Bermudian' without resembling a gift shop explosion. Thanks to my sister Eva, the handbag magician with needle skills that could rival a wizard, I dove headfirst into one-of-a-kind pieces. After a cozy six to eight months getting chummy with my industrial embroidery machine (it was a love-hate relationship, like a rom-com but with more thread), we're now cranking out fabulous creations ready for both the concrete jungle and sandy shores.

And remember, life’s too short to not love what you do—so here I am, living the dream and creating unique one-of-a-kind gifts just for you! Oh, and guess what? We just snagged the "Best of Bermuda" award for 2025! Speechless, right? Beyond grateful to my friends, family, and customers, and of course, not to forget my #1 supporter, Braceleteer and #1 fabric cutter and creative director - My husband. I love you more than words can say!!!

So, a big shout-out to the unsung heroes of this journey:

• My industrial embroidery machine: for all those late-night arguments and the occasional thread tantrum.

• My sister Eva: the wizard of handbags, who can stitch a purse faster than I can say "Bermuda shorts."

• My husband: for putting up with my fabric obsession and for always knowing where the scissors are (most of the time).

Threadneedle Studio: A Name So Long, It Needs Its Own History Book!

Threadneedle Studio, where our name was playing hide-and-seek like a sock in the laundry—only it was winning! After a year of brainstorming, we had our "eureka!" moment right under our noses, or should I say, right under our threads! Living in Threadneedle Cottage on Needle & Thread Alley, we finally figured out that the perfect name was just a hop, skip, and a snip away. Seriously, if it were any closer, it would have been in our coffee! Come join us on this delightful adventure of creativity—no eye-opening required, unless you’re trying to find your way out of a fabric store!
